COMPANY HISTORY

Savara Group’s story of remarkable accomplishments

Savara Group was founded in 1994 when the company purchased the assets and assumed the liabilities of the former Savara Division of Walt & Polla International, Inc. Walt & Polla is a New York-based import/export concern specializing in international trade with Russia. Savara Group now operates as an independent "S" corporation organized under the laws of New York State.

Since Savara Group’s inception, the company has steadily increased its sales volume. It has expanded its product line and operations, formed strategic alliances with world-class suppliers such as The Colombian Coffee Federation, Voss (sauces, condiments), Tulip (meat products), Rot-Front and Babaevskaya (confectioneries), and strengthened its marketing and advertising programs. The company’s overall growth trend has been impressive, with average yearly increases in net profits of approximately 10 percent.

The 1996 opening of Savara Group’s nut roasting facility highlights the company’s drive to expand it’s manufacturing capabilities. Located in the Kimki region of Moscow, the 8,000 square meter facility features U.S. manufactured, state-of-the-industry roasting, spicing, coating and packaging systems, and has a production capacity of one metric ton per hour. This new facility, along with other on-site manufacturing initiatives, will help SavaraGroup decrease tariff payments of finished and semi-finished goods, increase its profit margins and attract lucrative private-label manufacturing contracts with other Russian food companies.
